When did you start your radio career?

May of 2013

How did you get into radio?

Through the Rookie Radio program of 99.5 Play FM. Was the first one in line at 8 in the morning, and first one out…at around lunch time. I really should’ve had breakfast.

How was your first boardwork?

I was filling in for a Saturday show because all the full-time jocks were on vacation. It was 4 hours of fun, excitement, and palpable stress. Best feeling ever.

Any memorable thing happen in your rookie year as a jock?

Not exactly rookie year, but my first year as a full-time radio jock. I fell asleep right before the top of the hour. The top of the hour was done live on-air. That, my friends, is why I’ve had insomnia ever since.

Did you have the full support of your family when you started out?

They saw it as a hobby at first, but acknowledged it as my dream job when I’d play Taylor Swift every time they’d ask.

When you’re not on air, what kind of music do you listen to aside from the music you play on REPUBLIKA FM1?

Lots of rock music. I blame my friends in high school. From the late 90s until the early 2000s, be it North American, German industrial, or J-rock, you can bet it was on a mixtape or a burned CD.

…and Ingrid Michaelson when I’m feeling pretty.
